AmeriScan has developed A1200 terminal line boars from pure Swedish lines. These genetics have been practically selected and extensively tested for growth and percent lean for over 70
years.
Sweden began muscle quality testing in 1975 using ultimate pH evaluation. 1983 marked the start of the stress gene elimination process followed by intramuscular fat testing in 1988 and the evaluation of sensoric tasting traits in 1989. The stress gene was eliminated in 1990. In 1993 meat quality was incorporated into the Swedish E.B.V. genetic evaluation system. With this background, it is obvious, the Swedish lines excel in efficient quality meat production.
Specifically, the A1200 Terminal Boar is a very unique meatline sire. It culminates a special blend of Swedish Yorkshire and Hampshire hogs, originating from the highest BLUP values. Since importation in 1996 and 1998, the Swedish lines have been adapted to the U.S. production
system. AmeriScan A1200 boars are sound, growthy and produce lean market hogs. A1200 boars have sired thousand of market hogs cutting 54% lean or better with $10.00 to $12.00
per head premiums.
Producers require Growth. Oackers demand Lean. Consumers desire Quality. A1200 Boars deliver it all!
